Our Strategy

Smithswood has more children than any other ward in Solihull, and many families have limited choices for activities close to home. Our Youth Strategy 2026 to 2029 sets out what we want to do about it.

The idea

Every child should have something good to do, and an adult they trust, close to home. We do this in layers:

Open to everyone

Football, youth club, holiday activities and help with the move to secondary school for children aged 5 to 13.

Extra support

Where a young person needs a bit more, we offer extra support early, before things get serious.

Specialist help

Working closely with the council and partners for the small number of young people who need it.

Handing over to the community

Over three years we want local people to take over running the football club and youth club. We will share how we are getting on here, openly.

About Winnr Sport CIC

Winnr Sport CIC started as a small boxing provision and now runs youth and community programmes across North Solihull and East Birmingham.
